Article Requirements and Preparation Guide
For general guidelines to style, authors should study articles previously published in this journal.
The Journal of Family Research is published in Persian (Farsi) language with English Abstracts.
Research manuscripts and review and theoretical manuscripts that provide creative and integrative summaries of an area of work relevant to family issues (Social, Psychological, Therapeutic, Legal, etc.) should not exceed 7000 words, all inclusive (including abstract, text, references, tables, figures), with margins of at least 1 inch on all sides and a standard font (e.g., Times New Roman for English and B-Nazanin for Persian) of 11 points (no smaller).
Manuscripts exceeding the space requirement will be returned to the author for shortening prior to peer review.
All research involving human participants must describe oversight of the research process by the relevant Institutional Review Boards and should describe consent and assent procedures briefly in the Method section.
It is important to highlight the significance and novel contribution of the work.
Title Page
• Title. Concise and informative. Titles are often used in information-retrieval systems. Avoid abbreviations and formulae where possible.
• Author names and affiliations. Please clearly indicate the given name(s) and family name(s) of each author and check that all names are accurately spelled. Present the authors' affiliation addresses (where the actual work was done) below the names. Indicate all affiliations with a lower-case superscript letter immediately after the author's name and in front of the appropriate address. Provide the full postal address of each affiliation, including the country name and, if available, the e-mail address of each author.
• Corresponding author. Clearly indicate who will handle correspondence at all stages of refereeing and publication, also post-publication. Ensure that the e-mail address is given and that contact details are kept up to date by the corresponding author.
Please make every effort to see that the manuscript itself contains no clues to the authors' identities.
Cover Letter
Authors should indicate in their cover letter that the work has not been published previously and is not under consideration for publication elsewhere. The cover letter should include a statement indicating that the manuscript has been seen and reviewed by all authors.
The cover letter must include the full mailing address, telephone, fax, and email address for the corresponding author. The cover letter format can be downloaded from here.
Manuscript Preparation
Prepare manuscripts according to the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (7th edition). Review APA's Checklist for Manuscript Submission before submitting your article.
Abstract
All manuscripts must include an abstract containing a maximum of 200 words typed on a separate page. After the abstract, please supply three to five keywords or brief phrases. Abstract and keywords should been provided in both English and Persian languages.
Introduction
State the objectives of the work and provide an adequate background, avoiding a detailed literature survey or a summary of the results.
Material and methods
Provide sufficient detail to allow the work to be reproduced. Methods already published should be indicated by a reference: only relevant modifications should be described.
Results
Results should be clear and concise.
Discussion & Conclusions
Discussionshould explore the significance of the results of the work, not repeat them. Avoid extensive citations and discussion of published literature.
The main conclusions of the study may be presented in a short Conclusions section, which may stand alone or form a subsection of a Discussion.
Tables
Use Word's Insert Table function when you create tables. Using spaces or tabs in your table will create problems when the table is typeset and may result in errors.
References
List references in alphabetical order. Each listed reference should be cited in text, and each text citation should be listed in the References section. All Persian and Arabic references should be provided in English as well.

Figures
Graphics files are welcome if supplied as Tiff or EPS files. Multipanel figures (i.e., figures with parts labeled a, b, c, d, etc.) should be assembled into one file.
The minimum line weight for line art is 0.5 point for optimal printing.
When possible, please place symbol legends below the figure instead of to the side.
JFR provides authors the option to publish their figures in color without any costs, only if color printing is recognized necessary by editor in chief. Black and white figures cost no extra charge.
Publication Policies
APA policy prohibits an author from submitting the same manuscript for concurrent consideration by two or more publications.

Conflict of Interest
JFR requires authors to reveal any possible conflict of interest in the conduct and reporting of research (e.g., financial interests in a test or procedure, funding by pharmaceutical companies for drug research).
Authors of accepted manuscripts are required to transfer the copyright to JFR.
Ethical Principles
It is a violation of APA Ethical Principles to publish "as original data, data that have been previously published" (Standard 8.13).
In addition, APA Ethical Principles specify that "after research results are published, psychologists do not withhold the data on which their conclusions are based from other competent professionals who seek to verify the substantive claims through reanalysis and who intend to use such data only for that purpose, provided that the confidentiality of the participants can be protected and unless legal rights concerning proprietary data preclude their release" (Standard 8.14). JFR expects authors to adhere to these standards.
