Designing and examining the psychometric properties of perception of husband's marital jealousy questionnaire

The aim of the present study was designing and investigating the psychometric properties of the husbands' marital jealousy questionnaire in married women. The research design was mixed research method. In the first part of the research, the husbands' marital jealousy scale was designed using the qualitative method of phenomenology and literature study and in the second part, the psychometric properties of the designed scale were investigated with the descriptive-correlation method. The statistical population of the qualitative phenomenological research included all married women living in Ardabil city who experienced marital jealousy from their husbands, Then, 400 married women were selected using available sampling method and responded to the scale of marital jealousy and multidimensional jealousy questionnaire of Pfeiffer and Wong (1989). Data analysis was done in the qualitative part and in the quantitative part, exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis was used The results of exploratory factor analysis with principal components showed that the scale of marital jealousy is a 40-item instrument and has three behavioral, emotional, and social-normative components, and explains 40.56% of the variance of jealousy. Confirmatory factor analysis Identifying and studying marital jealousy in spouses can prevent its negative impact on couples' relationships.
