Child rearing and improving various dimensions of human development are basic life challenges of contemporary societies. According to this, the aim of this research was to identify the main components of child rearing based on Iranian parents’ view. The research method was qualitative and the statistical population, based on ethnicity were Urmia (Turkish & Kurdish) and Tehran (Persian) cities. The samples were chosen purposively until theoretical saturation was achieved. 300 Semi-structured interviews were conducted to collect the Parents’ viewpoints of child rearing. After data analysis (coding and content analysis), nine main components of moral, religious, physical, financial, political, social, sexual, emotional, and intellectual trainings were extracted. According to the results of survey, the Iranian parents mainly focused on religious, moral, and social training goals, while they had few information about some of components such as emotional, sexual, political, and financial trainings. The results of the present study can provide proper background information to fill the existing knowledge gap of Iranian parents’ perspectives about child rearing.
