The role of family in nurturing values in children is unique and unrivaled, and early childhood experiences will have a significant impact on the formation of spiritual and cultural tendencies. Value orientations such as individualism and collectivism are passed on through the family to children and individualist and collectivist family each develop different nurturing goals in children and it seems that influential factors such as attachment style, parenting style and family cohesion have a significant role in this upbringing. The purpose of this study was to investigate the impact of some key factors on individualistic-collectivistic orientation of children. Analyzing data showed a positive significant relationship between secure attachment style and collectivism and a negative significant relationship between avoidant attachment style and individualism. Also, there is a positive and significant relationship between Authoritative parenting style and collectivism and between Permissive parenting style and individualism. Comparison of this finding in the collectivist context with the findings of the individualist context shows that authoritative parents are more successful than others in transmitting the values of their culture to their children. Additional findings showed that individualism was significantly higher in men than in women and was significantly higher in single youths than married ones.
